  • Emergency Department Reports and Attendances

In this section, all emergency department visits will be uploaded. You can see that what is indicated in triage almost never coincides with the discharge reports, and almost 90% of the problems reported in both the BOX and Triage are ignored. Everything is duly documented and supported.

CARDIOLOGY: A 50-year-old patient diagnosed with Wenckeback AV block (grade 2, type 1) who repeatedly visits the emergency room with chest pain, dizziness, palpitations, and elevated heart rate. An electrocardiogram was sometimes performed and blood tests were performed twice. At no time was he referred for review and assessment in cardiology area 6, with the last assessment in area 1 (before changing areas) in 2023. His primary care physician also discussed the latest report from 2023 and commented that cardiology follow-up is not necessary at the moment.

After several visits to the emergency room (the last one in mid-July), an appointment was made for a check-up with an ENT specialist from the emergency room to rule out ear problems (already known in the medical history, increasing hearing loss in the left ear, hearing loss and tinnitus). The emergency room physician (rf232/2025) treated the patient in a contemptuous and humiliating manner. She reproached him for his continuous visits to the emergency room and told him that this was a matter for his family doctor, that they were not there for nonsense and the like. She was very rude and attacked the patient. The patient replied that if he didn't like his job, he should change to another one and that he shouldn't mix internal or external problems with those of the patients, that this is unprofessional and even less ethical. All of this was duly documented wherever requested.

The patient visits his family doctor several times, who quickly refers him to the physiotherapist at his local health center, who sees him within about five days. But there, they simply give him a piece of paper with instructions for some exercises. He does these exercises there, in front of the physiotherapist, to see if he's doing them correctly. These exercises only make the condition worse, hence the subsequent visits to the emergency room. If we go to the emergency room, it's a reason why we're going to the emergency room. If we go to the family doctor and there are no results and the matter is settled there, how is it resolved? Probably by paying, right? Those who defend the public system so much are sometimes the ones who force patients to have or contract private insurance, which, in many cases, is treated by the same people as in the public system. You just have to look up the names of doctors on the lists and medical charts of the private system and compare them with the public system, but... aren't those the ones who then go out to demonstrate (by the way, with 0% citizen support) saying they're tired of the workload? There are surgeons in the public system who only see patients twice a week, and then you see them holding consultations at Quirón, La Vega, Mesa del Castillo, and Clinica San Jose. That's why 99.99% of citizens (the other 0.01% are their relatives) don't follow them in their demonstrations and petitions, because clearly the vast majority (presumably not all, some will still care about the health of patients and have some VOCATION left.

Stop always blaming the citizen/patient for misusing PUBLIC health facilities and do your job well, treat them with respect and politeness, and refrain from making inappropriate comments that no one has asked you to. Then you can complain when someone offends or verbally attacks you (something I will never justify under any circumstances, whatever the scenario. ZERO TOLERANCE IN THE FACE OF AGGRESSION, NO MATTER WHERE IT COMES FROM). But you cannot justify or justify treating patients like this because of overwork. This is how all mortals work. I have never seen anyone. A bricklayer who's been out in the 40-degree sun and has gone to the emergency room, showing disrespect for his work. I can assure you that there are jobs and overloads far worse than yours, and you don't go around whining and reading manifestos that no one believes on the streets.

Stop navel-gazing and start empathizing with people. If you see patients who come in numerous times, instead of criticizing, try to solve the problem, and you'll see how things change and people start to believe in you. Perhaps, in the next demonstrations, the statistics will change, and 99.99% of citizens will join in to support your demands. That's when you'll truly exert your power.
